Brisbane - Sir John Chandler Park

The morning after the reunion I went for a drive around my old Brisbane haunts. The Brisbane River has a lot of bends and at the end of one bend is a small park. I had never got out of the car to explore it so this time I made the effort.

John Beals Chandler was Mayor of Brisbane from 1940 to 1952. He owned Chandlers, which sold electrical goods. He also started a local radio station, 4BC where the BC stands for Beals Chandler. Now that is an interesting piece of trivia for Queenslanders who read this blog.

It was all quite peaceful and I was the only person there on a quiet Sunday morning.
