Perth

We decided to fly to Perth instead of taking the Indian Pacific train because it's too difficult to make a booking close to the date of departure.

View of the Southern Ocean near Esperance.

Usually this area van be quite brown but there has been a lot of rain in Southern West Australia.

We are staying with an old classmate and his wife. He took us for a drive to Perth's Botanic Gardens at Kings Park. Because of its isolation, WA has plants found no where else in the world.

Plaque at the War Memorial.

View of the city area.
The old Swan Brewery which made the local brew.

A huge boab tree which was transplanted from the northern part of the state.

The story.
Interesting foot bridge.

Marianne, Christine and Harry.

The old Swan Brewery. Perth is one of Australia's most beautiful cities. It's also the most isolated major city in the world.

Local beach. Shark attacks are common.

We also went to Fremantle which is the local port. It's full of magnificent old buildings and many are being restored.

That is a hisser of a table.
