I read on the local Mayor's blog that there would be a display of Citroens in Maryborough so we duly turned up to have a look.
There has been a brief downpour as we arrived in Maryborough. I had just finished getting petrol at a pump and as I walked the twenty yards into the shop to pay, it suddenly bucketed down and I was partially soaked.
This would be rare. There are lots of vintage cars in Australia because much of Australia is relatively dry and the old cars are less prone to rust.
Small engine.
Plenty of DS-19s and DS-21. They were similar except the 21 had an engine size of 2100 cc against the 1900 of the 19. More about these cars here.
I would look good in this.
The humble 2CV, beloved by French farmers and the wannabe chiq. They were very much underpowered but could go anywhere and carry huge loads.
Back in 1980, Marianne and I spent two months driving a Citroen Visa Club around France and Spain. I didn't see that model here in Maryborough, but it was fun to drive. It was supposed to replace the 2CV but was not that popular. It was gutless but had an amazing ride. Bumps did not exist.
