Wombat Bend - once again

For years we have gone to visit Wombat Bend, home to friends who are heavily involved with rescue Airedale Terriers. We had two Airedales, Puggles and Bridgit, and they were wonderful dogs. But then again, most dogs are wonderful.

Only a mile to go down a dirt road with low clouds over a vineyard.

The house that Bill and Sue built. They also built a Burrow for use as a Bnb.

The billabong which they keep filled to use if a bushfire approaches. They needed it in 2009.

They also specialize in acacias. Their property featured on Gardening Australia soon after we arrived and from that, I decided to grow herbs on the back deck.

The tree that had to be rescued from the fire.

One of the three Airedales in residence.

Another wants some attention.

It's a lovely place. Bill was away but we had a nice conversation with Sue and we hope to visit again when we return to Melbourne.
