Hop on hop off Glasgow

When we go to a city we don't know, it's useful to take a bus to get a feel for the place.

We are staying at the Hotel Yotel across the street from the station where we will catch our train to London. And yes, it is the Yotel, not Yokel.

Street under the tracks.

We had to walk a few blocks to catch the bus. It was cold, windy and dank, quite a change from yesterday.

Spiffy arcade.

All the shops sold jewelry or expensive watches.

Public convenience.

We boarded the double-decker bus that was partially open upstairs but huddled inside downstairs.

The Lack Bull was sadly lacking.

I liked the blue clock face. It's tough taking photos from a bus in a city.

At one time, this docklands area had many cranes of this size. It's the only one left.

It's a car park.

Some bowling greens. I suspect it's dry enough to play a few days each year.

The traffic in Glasgow is congested with traffic lights that stay red for a long time. The driver of this truck became impatient. The downtown area is pleasant enough and the city seems prosperous.
