Brekkie by the beach

My Lumix camera is now seven years old and has become unreliable and I am trying to decide between getting another similar compact camera or a Pixel phone that apparently takes very good photos. This morning, I decided to see how a blog would turn out using my cheap Motorola phone.

Dan and Steph became nationally famous in a national TV cooking show. They moved to Hervey Bay and opened a brekkie and brunch restaurant.

For some reason or other, we decided to go out for breakfast which is a rarity for us. Here is the menu which you can click to enlarge.

Marianne's blob of Pesto Scramble.

The tacos. Basically a taco with some scrambled eggs and a sausage. It was ok but nothing memorable.

We walked over the street to the beach.

Nearby caravan park. It's a great location.

A batch of rain south of us. Fortunately, we did not get wet.

The small jetty at Torquay.

Of course, I had to walk to the end.

The rain was basically a light mist.  Good training for us when we go to Scotland in four week's time.

Scooters are allowed in Hervey Bay and they are quite popular. Many kids have one.

The shopping center at Torquay.

Every two months, we have lunch with some of my former high school classmates who are still in the area. Each time we go to a different pub and this time we went to the pub in Theebine which is a very small village about 30 to 40 miles south of Maryborough.

It's a lovely pub, made entirely of local wood.

The bar.

Some of the gang. Most of the blokes live by themselves but the other married man brings his wife. They got lost trying to find the pub so Marianne had to talk to us.

Theebine used to be a railway junction which explains why a pub was necessary. Summer has finally ended and autumn has arrived. It was lovely sitting out in a lovely breeze looking at the hill in the distance. Life in Oz is good.

Having done this blog, I have decided to keep using my phone rather than get a camera.
