Over the mountains to Balmoral

After another delicious brekkie, we headed off towards Balmoral on our way to Inverness.

But first, a photo of our hosts. They were really friendly.

The hills were covered with gorse.

Fortunately, there was sun to enliven the photos.

Unfortunately, there was some sort of bicycle outing with hundreds of bicyclists pedaling furiously up incredibly steep hills. It made driving slow and somewhat dangerous.

The lesson is to never drive on a sunny Sunday in the UK.

We did not stop at Balmoral but pushed on to Tomintoul.

It's unusual in that it was planned and laid out in a grid pattern.

Many little towns have a charging point.

It was a magnificent drive but there were few places to stop and take photos.
