Scherwiller

It looked like a beautiful day as we headed out to a renowned viewpoint at Mont Sainte-Odile. We had already driven up into that area during our drive north up the wine road. During that drive, Marianne had noted that the town of Scherwiller looked interesting so we stopped to take a look this time.

An idea of what it looks like from above.

Not too far from where we are staying.

Beautiful blue sky behind the steeple.

The tourist office where we got a map of the town.

Entrance to a winery.

A small creek runs through the town.

All the flowers were looking really good after the rainy weekend.

The creek runs under this house.

Back in 1980, we traveled in Spain and France. Our comment at the time was that the Spaniards took no great delight in making their towns and cities look good. The French however, love to make everything beautiful.

Such interesting details everywhere.

Scherwiller is a wonderful little village, just as pretty as the more famous villages further south but without the hordes of tourists.
