Nambucca Heads

We stayed with one of Geoff's friends for two nights in Nambucca Heads. She had a very interesting house with a great view to the south of mountains, river, ocean and trees.
The ocean is not visible in this view, but it is just to the left.

The back verandah. Note the sail covering to protect the table. Apparently it can get quite windy out there in the afternoon.

A visitor. No laughing matter, that beak.

Views from the headland.

One of the beaches below the headland.

The Nambucca River just before it enters the sea.

The river mouth. As you can see, the water is quite choppy. In the foreground is one of the numerous camp grounds along the coast. In summer, this place is an absolute zoo.

There is a walk out along the breakwater to the mouth of the river.

At the mouth of the river.

It has become popular in the last few years for visitors to paint a rock on the breakwater. There is scarcely a rock unpainted now.

Some are quite elaborate.

My favourite.

I quite liked Nambucca. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of the town itself which is very hilly. However, if you are in the area, stop and take a look around.
