Day 3 - Svolvaer

Our usual dinner time had been brought forward to 5:15 pm and the ship arrived at about 6:30 pm for a two hour stop at Svolvaer.

It was immediately obvious that this would be a more interesting town.

Drying fish in the fire escape stairwell of a multi-story building.

I liked the design.

More about the Arctic Triple here. There are three events throughout the year and one is a triathlon.

Marianne was quite interested in this shop.

Drying fish seems to be the thing to do here.

There is a tiny island with cute little buildings.

The Lofoten.

In the middle of the little island.

I think you could stay in these buildings. Apparently the town is very popular and crowded with tourists in summer.

It's a lovely place to stroll around, particularly after dinner.

Serious fish drying racks.

We returned to the ship and had a restorative shot of Scotch Whiskey. We brought it along in case it rained the entire way, or even if it didn't. Marianne was contemplating the day's schedule which you get at the beginning of each day.
